The Beer
Algeria · Group JRich Algerian malt beverage with warming sweetness. Algeria's everyday blonde lager: pale gold, soft and malty with a clean, easy finish — a discreet but well-loved fixture of Mediterranean Algeria.
The Brewer's Tale
HeritageThe Brewery
Tango was built near Algiers, at Rouiba, by businessman Djilali Mehri — the first private brewery in Algeria, with the brand launching in 2001. Heineken acquired the brewery in 2008.
The Pour
A Euro-style blonde lager made for the heat: pale gold, soft malt with a faint cereal sweetness and a light, refreshing, undemanding finish.
A Quiet Classic
In a country where beer keeps a low profile, Tango is the household name — the cold bottle on a coastal terrace, at a barbecue, or in front of the football.
At The Table
With Algerian food: méchoui, grilled merguez, chorba and brochettes.
