The Brewer's Tale

Heritage

The Brewery

Pilsener was launched in 1913 by Cervecería Nacional, whose brewery has stood in Guayaquil's Las Peñas quarter, by the Guayas river, since the 1880s.

It has been Ecuador's best-selling beer for generations and is now part of AB InBev.

The Pour

A pale golden lager brewed with a touch of corn: light-bodied, crisp and clean, with gentle malt and a balanced, lightly bitter finish — made for coastal heat.

The Beer of La Tri

Pilsener is woven into Ecuadorian football — long-time sponsor of the national team (La Tri) and the top-flight league, and the pour at every match.

At The Table

Coast and Sierra alike: ceviche and encebollado on the coast, hornado and llapingachos in the highlands.
