Barbican

Alcohol-free malt beverage with gentle caramel sweetness. The Gulf's favourite 0.0: a carbonated, barley-malt brew — crisp, lightly sweet and clean — sold in malt and a rainbow of fruit flavours.

The Brewer's Tale

Heritage

The Brewery

Barbican began at England's Bass Brewery in 1979, but found its home in the Gulf: the Saudi firm Aujan introduced it across the Middle East from 1982 and eventually bought the brand outright.

It's now produced in Dammam and Dubai by Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages (ACCBC).

The Pour

An alcohol-free malt beverage brewed like beer but without the alcohol: amber-gold, gently sweet with light hop and grain — best served ice-cold, in malt or fruit flavours.

The Gulf's 0.0

Alongside Moussy, Barbican was one of the first non-alcoholic malt drinks in the region — and is now its market leader, so ubiquitous the name is almost a generic term for the category.

At The Table

With the grill and the majlis: kabsa, mishkak skewers, grilled chicken and mezze.
