The Brewer's Tale

Heritage

The Brewery

Mahou was founded in Madrid in 1890 by Casimiro Mahou. Still family-rooted, it anchors the Mahou-San Miguel group, Spain's largest brewer, and remains the quintessential beer of the capital.

The Pour

Its flagship Cinco Estrellas (‘Five Stars’) is a golden Spanish lager: bready malt, a soft, balanced bitterness and a clean, smooth, easy-drinking finish.

The Caña of Madrid

In Madrid, beer means a cold caña of Mahou with a tapa — the everyday ritual of the city's bars and terraces.

At The Table

Made for tapas: jamón, tortilla, patatas bravas, croquetas and grilled seafood.
