The Brewer's Tale

Heritage

The Brewery

Founded in 1876 in Rheinfelden, on the Rhine in canton Aargau, Feldschlösschen — ‘little castle in the fields’ — is Switzerland's largest brewery, famous for its turreted, castle-like brewhouse and its dray horses.

It is now part of the Carlsberg Group.

The Pour

A clean Swiss pale lager: bright gold, soft malt, a light herbal-floral hop note and a crisp, refreshing finish.

The Castle

The Rheinfelden brewery is a Swiss landmark — a neo-Gothic ‘beer castle’ on the Rhine, long served by a team of heavy draught horses.

At The Table

Swiss comfort food: rösti, cervelat sausages, raclette and fondue — or a plate straight off the grill.
